ROUNDS

  • Board Game Round
  • During the ‘freshhh2009’ on-line board game You will be introduced to the exciting world of the oil and gas industry…
As you open the box of the game you will find the game board showing the track which imitates the value chain of the oil and gas industry. It starts with Exploration and Production, followed by Refining, Petrochemistry, Logistics, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Wholesale and finishes with Retail. Each round covers one element of the value chain and takes 1.5 – 3 days. Within a round you are challenged with 3 different tasks: quiz questions, an on-the-job task and a logical game.
Concerning the deadlines let’s check the Timing!

  • Creative Rounds
  • The task is: to develop a game :) focusing on oil and gas industry. You have two options to select from:

    • A game developed for general public (e.g.: gasoline customers at filling stations, business partners, employees’ families, etc.) with an objective of providing high level information, generating interest in the industry while having fun
    • A game developed for secondary school students with an objective of utilization in education as a supporting tool for teaching natural sciences while introducing oil and gas industry in an attractive, enjoyable way.

We are expecting a documentation of a complete, playable and enjoyable game with title, clear rules, examples of tasks/questions, draft layouts, etc. Please feel free to use any tool/method/medium that helps you persuade us that your game is the best! Be creative and use fresh ideas!

    Task evaluation criteria:

    • Level of focus on target group (to what extent the game suits the target group)
    • Level of creativity and idea freshness :) (to what extent the game is unique, unusual or attracts attention)
    • Level of idea preparation (to what extent you developed your idea. Is it an idea for further development or an almost ready game proposed?)
    • Level of game and rules clarity (how clear, complex, playable your proposed “prototype game” is)
    • Fun factor

    Evaluation committee consists of:

    • MOL Group managers and experts
    • Representatives of the target group

Useful hint: please be prepared that the representatives of the target group will evaluate your work and idea by trying the game out. (Depending on your chosen option managers, family members, secondary school students will play with your game and provide their evaluation!)

Method of submitting: uploading on to the ‘freshhh2009’ site (Please use standard technology for documentation, e.g. MS Office, PDF, JPG, etc.)
Important note: The Teams qualified to the Creative Round demonstrated high quality. This performance attracted the attention of the competition organizers and MOL Group managers. We would like to make sure that - independently of the final result - we can keep you updated, provide further news and job opportunities. That is why we ask the qualified teams’ members - as precondition - to upload their detailed CV on the website additionally to the prepared documents.

Deadline of submitting: 03th April 12:00 GMT

    So you should…
    1. Choose an option
    2. Concentrate on the aim / target group of your game
    3. Get together, use your best creativity, mobilize your fantasy and collect ideas (while having fun :) )
    4. Prepare a documentation of the game (we suggest to test it for yourself :) )
